Business owners, if you are using an auto-attendant to answers calls from your customers, then you are showing that your customer's calls are really NOT important to you.
Chat bots on your sites are ok if you let customers choose whether or not that's how they want to communicate with you. I had an excellent example of customer service yesterday when I was trying to get some information about a company.
I started on their chat bot, but as soon as an agent came on, I asked her if she could call me because I'd really rather speak to a person instead of going back and forth with messages.
She called me.
Chat bots are ok if you have one question you want to ask. Auto-attendants may be ok for a customer to pay a bill. But I think it would be a big wake up call for businesses if they found out how many customers or sales they lost because the customer got tired of screaming "representative" at your auto-attendant.
This is the place to be for motivation, inspiration, and to be able to discuss almost any subject without getting the snot beaten out of you.
I believe in freedom of speech, truth, and civility. Sometimes it may be difficult to get all three in one place but let's try.
